Signed to endpaper by Hughes and Adamson dated Nov. 1980. This was Hughes' first book for children. Small quarto, illustrated, paper-covered boards in bright clean condition. The jacket repeats the front board illustration, the spine with a touch of fading to lettering, rear panel with minor toning. The jacket is clipped with pale foxing to inner flaps. Adamson was born in New York to British parents but spent his life and career in England. Amongst his prolific output, Adamson designed the jackets of Alan Garner's first two novels, The Weirdstone of Brisngamen and The Moon of Gomrath. The book is rare signed by both Hughes and Adamson.
