Hardcover. Condition: Good. The cover has purple cloth. Most of the content is 63, browntone plates, illustrating houses, floor plans, and architectural details. An ad for Minton's Tiles for Floors, has plate with ten, color illustrations. The front, blank page has an owner's name, D. C. Merrill, and the year 1879. The publisher's ad is tipped in between the copyright and half-title pages, causing a darkened area on each of those pages. The first plate has several stains, mostly pinpoint size, and all but three are on the margins. One plate has a 3/8 in., light stain in the sky area. Eight plates each have a light stain, up to 3/4 in. on a margin. One page margin has a 5/8 in. closed tear that is rejoined on the reverse side with paper tape that matches the page's color. Another page margin has a 1 in. closed tear that is rejoined with glue. The back, free endpaper has a diagonal crease line and a light, fingerprint stain. Spine strip: The cloth has faded, making the lettering nearly illegible; the top and bottom ends, including 1 in. of the gutter, are frayed. Front board: About half of the cloth is faded; about 1/8th of the cloth has a splotchy, gray stain; 6 letters are nearly illegible. Back board: About 1/3rd of the cloth is faded; the front corners are frayed. The text block ends have darkened. Scans e-mailed upon request.
