A very near fine copy in the publisher's 3/4 brown polished calf and patterned paper over boards, with the spine gently sunned, with light rubbing to spine ends. In the original clear dust jacket, which is yellowed where it meets the leather (an eventuality present in all copies), also with a few edge chips. In the publisher's slipcase, near fine, with a small split at one corner; still sound. One of 1500 limited copies SIGNED by Matheson on the limitation page. One of the best LEC's from this period, with appropriately bleak and arresting woodcut illustrations; unjustly undervalued, and a great deal for anyone desiring an attractive edition containing three of Ibsen's best plays.
