"Rolie Polie Olie's back with his new pal, Mr. Snowie! Together they rocket to Chillsville to meet Klanky Klaus and dance the chilly cha cha." "Joyce has received three Emmys for Rolie Polie Olie, an animated series based on his series of children's books that airs on the Disney Channel. His second television series, George Shrinks, used to air daily on PBS stations. Joyce created conceptual characters for Disney/Pixar's feature films Toy Story (1995) and A Bug's Life (1998). In 2001, after Joyce and Ice Age director Chris Wedge failed to adapt one of Joyce's books to the screen, Santa Calls, they both came up with the idea for the animated film Robots (2005) , which is based on the book of the same name itself by Joyce himself. Besides being one of the creators, Joyce also served as a producer and production designer. ".

First edition, first printing. Publisher's original paper covered boards with titles in black, ruled in red to the upper board. 4to. Printed on hand made Batchelors paper by Arthur's Press Ltd. of Woodchester, Gloucester. A lovely very near fine copy, the binding ever so slightly bowed is otherwise square and tight with only a few superficial marks to the delicate paper covers. The contents are entirely complete and without loose or torn pages. Other than some offsetting to the page opposite the illustrations the contents are clean and bright throughout and without previous owner's inscriptions or stamps. Scarce in this condition. The entire printing was limited to only 100 copies of which this is numbered 4. Compiled in the spirit and celebration of the English sense of humour amongst the blackouts, limited wireless programs, curtailed transport services and worries of war. Both the author and illustrator at the time of publication were working in the publicity department of MGM's London office. They take poems "which everyone knows - or if they don't, should know" - and rewrite and illustrate them "for more modern requirements". The Imperial War Museum in London holds the private papers of the illustrator, Squadron Leader E. G. W. Wood. Further details and images for any of the items listed are available on request.
