This is a review copy with the publisher's slip laid in with a letter from the publisher addressed to Mrs. Miller and signed by Elizabeth B. Hamilton from Morrow and a glossy photograph of one of Ward's lithographs. The book is stamped "Horn Book" twice on the front endpaper, no doubt indicating the publication that received the letter and review copy.
