Ulam a Chumash Indian boy, faces hardship and adventure as he grows up among his people. Others in his tribe call him 'the Weak One'. But Ulam is not weak in spirit. He works hard to make himself strong and worthy to be a man, and by his faith and courage he saves the life of Tobuco the Chief. American children's author Elsa Falk (1888-1977), now sadly mostly forgotten, specialised in stories of the Native Americans. Quite a scarce book.
