Quarto consisting of loosely gathered (unbound) signatures in paper wraps inserted in a chemise made of paper-covered boards in a similarly covered slipcase. Printed on hand-made paper. Note: the 23 plates by Rouault are missing. At the end of the volume is a sheet containing "Notes" and thumb-nail reproductions of the missing illustrations. Text is in French. Condition: besides the missing plates, the top portion of the slipcase is lacking; the slipcase is rubbed; the rear outer hinge of the chemise is split but is still holding; internally, the pages of the text are quite good. Overall, a good, but incomplete copy. 229 pages.
