Couverture souple. Condition: Bon. Edition originale. Paris, V.-A. Delahaye, 1878 ; in-8, 97 pp., broché, couverture tâchée avec petits manques, rousseurs éparses, envoi (au Dr Boudet). Edition en librairie de la thèse de l'auteur. Cette thèse fit connaître en France la méthode de Porro, qui, au prix d'une mutilation grave, fit chuter la mortalité maternelle alors considérable de la césarienne (par infection ou hémorragie). Cette méthode fut pratiquée en France l'année suivante, à Lyon par Fochier, puis à Paris par Tarnier. Elle eut un succès considérable pendant une dizaine d'années, avant de disparaître au profit de la césarienne classique, grâce au perfectionnement de l'asepsie. REFERENCES :.Pundell, Histoire de l'opération césarienne, p. 217 : " elle (la méthode de Porro) est connue en France à la suite de la thèse d'Imbert DE LA TOUCHE." ; sur l'opération de Porro, cf.
