A blueback chart of the North Sea from the River Humber up to the Orkney Islands. Five inset maps. Blue manila backing, publisher's printed label on the outside at lower left. Some chipping and staining to label, "1914" written on label, dampstains to lower edge, one puncture/tear at upper left, clean and very good otherwise. Th…e chart is rolled in such a way that the roll is 3-sided, so it is quite wavy when unrolled. A large chart, about 160cm x 109cm, rolled. Very scarce. We have been unable to locate another copy of this chart; a listing of it appears within a James Laurie advertisment in a German periodical of 1892 (HANSA: Volume 29) titled: "The NORTHERN PART of the NORTH SEA, on a large scale, extending from the River Humber to the Orkneys, on the English and Scotch sides; with the opposite coasts of Germany, Denmark and Norway.".

A blueback chart of the North Sea; the coast of Holland and North Germany. Three inset maps. Blue manila backing, publisher's printed label on the outside at lower left. Old stains and a few tears at the lower left, edge a bit ragged at lower left, some chipping to label; in general condition is clean and very good. Hand-numbere…d on the label: "77". Small ink rubber stamp in German at the title. Some locations highlighted in pen. This chart was issued with a book of sailing instructions (not present here). A large chart, 201cm x 10cm, rolled. The Finnish Maritime Museum describes two copies, dated 1875 and 1889. The Museu Marítim de Barcelona records a copy dated 1880.
