A complete set of this very lovely LIMITED EDITION DE LUXE, FOUNDERS EDITION of 15 numbered sets only. This edtion was expressly made for the Stockholder (Dr Fordyce)s and published in 1899-1900. The books are in red cloth covers with gilt titles and ornate decoration to spine; books have rubs / repaired splits to spine tops. Internally the books are very good indeed and free of inscriptions; they are largely unread; they are illustrated with coloured frontispieces and b/w or photogravure plates each with titled tissue guards and in in this edition there are two copies of each plate [all present and all with their tissue guards]; in Vol XXIV the last plate is a photograph of Daudet with his son Leon, the first plate bears the signature 'Leon Daudet' in the margin but the second plate does not; bindings tight; free of foxing; fore and lower edges semi-trimmed.
