Seconda parte (di due) dell Editio princeps della grande maggioranza di autori greci di epistole pubblicata per cura di Marco Musuro e impressa con i meravigliosi caratteri greci della stamperia aldina. Nella sua dedicatoria ad Antonio Urceo Codro (1446-1500), professore di greco e latino a Bologna, Aldo afferma di aver raccolto tutte le lettere che riuscì a procurarsi di circa trentacinque scrittori greci. Nei due volumi furono però inserite le lettere di soli 26 autori. Quelli che non compaiono in questa edizione erano riservati per una pubblicazione successiva che non vide mai la luce. Scrivere lettere era considerata un arte che faceva parte a pieno titolo dell educazione umanistica e dunque gli epistolari circolavano come modelli. L importanza ed il contenuto delle epistole presenti in quest opera va, tuttavia, ben oltre l aspetto prettamente stilistico.
