Softcover. Condition: Very good. First Edition. 241 x 347 mm. 140,[9] pp., text printed in red and black, containing color maps, charts, and diagrams and tinted and monochrome illustrations. Three-page addendum, BASIC INDICES OF THE ECONOMIC AND CULTURAL GROWTH OF THE U.S.S.R. ACCORDING TO THE THIRD FIVE-YEAR PLAN 1938-1942, laid in. Original red cloth over card wrappers, front cover stamped in gilt with star, hammer, and sickle, spine titled in gilt. Covers lightly soiled, moderately worn at extremities, upper front corner bumped; occasional offsetting. Very good. A major work of Soviet public relations, issued for the 1939 World's Fair, and an important contribution to the visual display of quantitative information, with the design of isotype-populated maps and charts overseen by El Lissitzky.
