First Edition
Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Near Fine. 1st Edition. Not a book but a 12-inch, 33-1/3 rpm heavy vinyl jazz record album, Bethlehem "High Fidelity" (mono) BCP-6028. Vinyl grades "very-good" to "very-good-plus." These quiet tracks (this ain't Dixieland) play without any extraneous noise that we can hear -- SOUNDS close to mint. But there's visible track wear -- disc has been played more than once or twice -- there's a dimple to final track of Side A as made, and a single light scratch can be seen to the third and fourth tracks of that side --"He Needs Me" and "Little Girl Blue" -- though scratch cannot be felt and (again) these tracks play through for us without any noticeable hiss or pop. In a near-fine cardboard jacket with the gloss only slightly interrupted in a 3-/12-inch circle at the center where jacket has pressed onto the edge of the label underneath. Previous owner's name tag to top of "Side A" label. 25-year-old Miss Simone arranged the tunes, composed "Central Park Blues," plays all the piano and does all the singing, helped out by Jimmy Bond on bass and Al Heath (Percy's Brother) on drums, offering "Mood Indigo," "Don't Smoke In Bed," "Little Girl Blue," "Love Me or Leave Me," "My Baby Just Cares for Me," "You'll Never Walk Alone," "I Loves You Porgy," etc. We attach three scans of the disc itself, the first a normal exposure, the second and third scans lightened to make the label easier to read. Reduced from $210.
