First Edition
Soft cover. Condition: New. 1st Edition. MINT condition, still sealed. 80 pages, large softcover in thick wraps, 12" by 10". Trilingual text in English, French and German. Superb book published to document the photographic commissions and collections of the Belgian Lhoist Group, the major European lime supplier. Focuses on the Group's commission of work by six photographers: Josef Koudelka (panoramics of lime quarries); Bernd and Hilla Becher (industrial facades); Elliot Erwitt (portraits of factory workers); Roy Arden (color images of industrial sites); Rodney Graham (inverted landscapes); and Jan Henle (rock formations). Very well printed with 46 plates organized in suites for each photographer, introduced by artists' comments (save for Koudelka) on their commissioned projects. Impressive book, especially notable for the inclusion of Koudelka's lime quarry images. Scarce.
