Very slight edge wear, otherwise near fine in pictorial paper covered boards. Dwgs. by La Verne Ford. Mother Anderson, who believed that good cooking lured the traveling man, bought herself a hotel in 1896 and became famous throughout the Midwest for the home-cooked food served at the Hotel Anderson in Wabasha, Minnesota. Her daughters and granddaughters, who carried on the tradition after she retired, claim that she bought the house across the street from the hotel dining room in order to be certain that the meals were prepared and served as they should be; she could often be seen, perched in her easy chair, binoculars in hand. A hefty, hearty slice of Midwestern Americana. Postpaid.
