Facsimile reprint of the self-published 1945 first edition, the engaging record of an enterprising pioneer who was fascinated by the native Nooksacks. The title is Chinook for "red face," nickname given to the young Hawley by chief Indian Jim when he arrived with his family to settle on the site that became Lynden. Jacket preserved in a removable clear archival sleeve.
