Paperback. Condition: new. Paperback. The strong wind blows as a young warrior steps forth from the shadowy forest. All that is left of an ill-fated sea journey he finds himself in a strange, beautiful land. He adjusts his eyes to the bright landscape before him. Colorful plant life and animals can be seen for miles around. A drop of saliva runs from the corner of his mouth as he eyes a rabbit-like creature. From what he sees it looks like a rabbit except it has a long cat like tail and green and purple markings. The proud teen Viking draws his short dagger like blade from its well-oiled sheath and lunges. After a few seconds of struggling and noise the animal lays limp in his hands. Our book begins with Grimir, a young, shipwrecked teen Viking who ends up on a magical lost island full of strange beasts and Vikings from different time eras. The island stops the aging process and is full of magic and deep history. Our teen Viking learns who he is and is assimilated into the Viking society in place on the island. Along the way he attends schooling and training learning from different Vikings mentors that have been trapped on the island over the years. He also makes new friends, enemies and love interests. There are stories within the story that tell of two powerful Viking swords and a way to reunite the lost island back to the Viking mainlands which was separated by Oden himself. Grimir has, in his possession, one of the swords given to him by his family and learns of its importance while protecting it and friends from a dark older Viking in possession of one of the mythical swords who yearns to take it and use it for evil. With use of Magic and skill Grimir and friends attempt to thwart the dark Viking from getting both swords and ruling the Viking island and Mainland. Battles ensue and lessons are learned as the fight for all Vikings future freedom hangs in the balance. With Good prevailing over evil there seems to be left an opening for escape for the dark Viking to have another go at reclaiming both swords. Shipping may be from multiple locations in the US or from the UK, depending on stock availability.
