Book is tight, square, and unmarked but for a gift inscription and a small paste on flower on the FFFP. Book Condition: Fair; paper tears to front and rear pastedowns from scotch tape removal; wear through fabric at tail, lower tips, and board bottom edges near to the tail. No DJ. Green cloth boards and spine with black lettering on the spine and front board. Clean internals. Inner hinges are sound and not split. Thumb index on textblock fore edge. 1145 pp 8vo. This classic reference, first published in 1959, is a wealth of useful information on gardening the natural way. A original gardening "mainfesto" by the founder of organic agriculture in the U.S. covers flower and vegetable gardening, soils, composting, homesteading, greenhouses, fruit and nut trees, lawns, landscaping, pest control, and much more. A presentable copy but still a First Edition.
