Condition: Good. 1938. 9th Edition, Revised. 298 pages. Pictorial dust jacket over red cloth. Black and white photographic plates and illustrations throughout. Pull-out map to rear pastedown. Pages and binding are presentable with no major defects. Minor issues present such as mild cracking, inscriptions, inserts, light foxing, tanning and thumb marking. Map is torn. Boards have mild shelf wear with light rubbing and corner bumping. Some light marking and sunning. Unclipped jacket has moderate edge wear with tears, chips, and some areas of loss. Noticeable rubbing and marking.

Illustrated with more than 100 black/white photographs taken by Richard Wyndham, also frontispiece painting by Wyndham. Richard Wyndham lived in Sussex, in the heart of this area, and his book reflects his intimate and discerning knowledge of these three counties as well as his great affection for them.
