See images for condition. About the book >.>.> The universe exists in an eternal flow of time. I wonder what lies beyond. We live in an incomprehensible, dreamlike space. Like the first unicellular amoeba born, all life on Earth must struggle frantically to survive. In the mysterious and beautiful natural world, all life sparkles and seems to understand that everything began from the same starting point. Nothing is uselessly killed; life is treasured. There is no nasty enmity, no hatred. It is only human beings who have employed their shady knowledge to manufacture poison and weapons, only human beings who continue to massacre their fellow humans and other creatures and to destroy the planet. I have continued to depict the wonders of the natural world and the preciousness of life, and I am determined to continue my search for true happiness. (LL).

Hardback. Condition: New. Tokyo: destroyed by the earthquake of 1923 and again by the firebombing of World War II. Does anything remain of the old city? The internationally known Japanese architectural historian Jinnai Hidenobu set out on foot to rediscover the city of Tokyo. Armed with old maps, he wandered through back alleys and lanes, trying to experience the city's space as it had been lived by earlier residents. He found that, despite an almost completely new cityscape, present-day inhabitants divide Tokyo's space in much the same way that their ancestors did two hundred years before. Jinnai's holistic perspective is enhanced by his detailing of how natural, topographical features were incorporated into the layout of the city. A variety of visual documents (maps from the Tokugawa and Meiji periods, building floorplans, woodblock prints, photographs) supplement his observations. While an important work for architects and historians, this unusual book will also attract armchair travelers and anyone interested in the symbolic uses of space. (A translation of Tokyo no kukan jinruigaku.).

Brossura. Condition: new. Brossura. Condition: new. Edizione italiana a cura di Maria Russo.Prefazione, commenti, conclusione e note di Maria Russo.Amalfi, 2011; br., pp. 200, ill. All'incirca quindici anni addietro, il prof. Libro.
