From the Introduction: "The first part is an expanded version of the publication 'History and Origin of the Basque' first published in 1962 . Part II points out the highlights of recent Basque history from 1931 to the present and deals primarily with the short-lived Basque Republic and the Spanish Civil War which followed.".
