    Hard Cover in Dust Jacket. Condition: Very Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Fair. First Edition. Bound in green cloth with pale yellow lettering stamped to upper board and to spine. Tips and ends of spine lightly rubbed; hinges and binding strong. Dust jacket has significant tears and chips and is held together, in part, by three pieces of clear tape on the printed side. Inscribed by the author on the title page "To My Friend Bill Arthur / John G. Claybourn / 10-14-58". This copy has been augmented by the inscribee, Bill, with three B&W snap shots taped (tape has browned) to the front endpaper showing Bill and the author together in 1958 and 1962. 97 pages of text and approximately 80 full page illustrations from photos on glossy paper showing the work on the Panama Canal and one fold-out table.
