Hardback. Condition: Fair. YOU RUINED MY LIFE AND YOU STOLE MY BRA is the moving and funny memoir of one woman's epic struggle to heal her relationship with her mercurial mother. A testament to the power of self-discovery and the resilience of the human spirit.Soledad O'Brien: Loved Anita Finlay's book - a wonderful, hilarious and sometimes heartbreaking read. Despite her best efforts to sidestep landmines in a turbulent household, Anita grew up fighting. She spent as much time defending her hard-working mother to a brilliant but abusive father as she did defending herself from her mom's criticism. Finally cobbling together a joyful life, Anita feared that becoming her mother's mother would ruin the paradise she'd struggled to build. But with the clock ticking ever faster, she ached to make peace with her beloved mom before losing her. Careening down the bumpy road of elder care while revisiting pivotal life events, Anita unearthed the reasons for their many battles, determined to lay to rest the demons that had haunted her most of her adult life. YOU RUINED MY LIFE AND YOU STOLE MY BRA is a candid, insightful, entertaining touchstone not only for dealing with-and honoring-an elderly parent, but for digging deep to find forgiveness, empowerment and closure.

In 1868, Japan emerged from feudalism and civil conflict as a comparatively undeveloped industrial state in an age of European imperialism in East Asia. Within a generation, Japan had risen to the ranks of the foremost industrial and military powers in the Western Pacific. A generation later, Japan had become the paramount power in East Asia, and her naval and air forces spread Japanese power across the Pacific. The formidable weapon built in the name of the Emperor swept across China and Manchuria; her air forces pummeled Pearl Harbor and Darwin; her armies marched to Singapore and the gates of India. Her navies seized some Aleutian islands and strafed the California coast. By 1942 the world had come to know the power of the most devastating force in the Pacific - the Japanese War Machine. The force and power of the Japanese War Machine is told here by some of the world's leading experts in guns, tanks, planes, and ships of World War II. Presumed First U. S. Edition, First printing.

Hardcover. Condition: Fair. Dust Jacket Condition: Fair. 1st Edition. Stated First Edition. A Fair or reference copy of the 4to hardcover and dust jacket. Modest condition grade because of some moisture damage to the blue cloth covers--i.e., a somewhat bowed or warped front cover and some staining on the rear cover with related blue staining on the underside of the covering dj. The profusely illustrated contents (pictorial end papers, 552 pp.) appear clean and securely bound, albeit with a touch of riffling in the top margin and perhaps a bit of uniform age tanning. The pages' blue top edge has some spots and areas of fading. The page's bottom edge has a bit of dust staining at the fore edge as a result of the natural shelf fatigue found in a book of this size and weight. The dj, which is not price clipped ($21.00), has a few edge tears, is rubbed on the spine and flap edges, has a bit of staining/soiling in the rear, and has a moisture-related chip--i.e., no sharp edges--in the rear bottom corners. NOT an ex-library copy! **Extra charges will be required to cover postage costs on an expedited and/or international order because of the size of this book.
