Item Description: Philadelphia: Seymour Adelman, 1945, 1945. Philadelphia: Seymour Adelman, 1945. First edition. Broadside poem, with notes. First line of 14: "I thought of witcheries of older days.". A note by Adelman states that the only evidence that this is by Keats are its content, style and language. On the obverse is a presentation inscription, signed ("S.A.") by Adelman to "C.B.B.", thanking him or her for the "Boxiana broadside", with which he was thrilled. Handmade paper watermarked "SA / 1945", deckled edges. One of 40 copies done for the 150th anniversary of Keats' birth. Enclosed in a cloth case, lettered in gilt. Laid into the case is a typed slip asserting that the poet Ralph helped Adelman with the editing of this sonnet after discovering it "in a Scottish publication of the 1820's.the paper was made especially.by Harrison Elliott, from shirts worn.by Frederick Goudy, the noted typographer." Book collectors, like nature (for example the Irish elk, now extinct), sometimes overdo things. A Fine copy. Bookseller Inventory # e6606beed308cb6a0c8a470f0d1b2a2d
