Hardcover. Condition: Good. Special Edition. Dr John Leask (1856 - 1947), a Scotsman, who was for many years Director of Singapore General Hospital, complied this family genealogy upon his return to the U.K. He never actually wrote it up as a narrative, nor can I ascertain it's accuracy - but it offers a fascinating glimpse into Scottish life from the 14th to 17th century.

Condition: Very good. First Edition. Splendid late Victorian edition of JANE EYRE, known for its beautiful Art Nouveau cover design by Talwin Morris. Considered a pioneer of the "Glasgow Style," Talwin Morris (1865-1911) was a prolific artist and book designer. His shift towards the characteristic lines and curves of Art Nouveau was especially influential for Victorian book design. The distinctive "peacock's crest" motif seen here would also grace a number of other titles released by the publisher - Austen's PRIDE AND PREJUDICE, Thackeray's THE NEWCOMES, Benjamin Disraeli's CONIGSBY, and James Lever's THE CONFESSIONS OF HARRY LORREQUER. An attractive copy of this beloved classic. 7.75'' x 5.5''. Original blue cloth, gilt lettering and Art Nouveau peacock design stamped in green and white to boards and spine. Grey-brown endpapers. xxvi, 394 pages. Boards with some wear and bumping to corners, slight lean and faint toning to spine, light foxing to textblock edges and leaf margins, faint offsetting to endpapers. Sound.
