Add to basketHardcover. Condition: Very Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Good. 1st Edition. Land Tenure Committee/Department of Town and Country Church, New York. 1955. Hardcover. First Edition. Book is tight, square, and unmarked. Book Condition: Very Good +; light shelfwear to head, tail, and tips. DJ: Good; missing small pieces at head, tail…and tips from shelving. Green cloth boards and spine with bright gilt lettering on the spine. 102 pp 8vo. This book was put together to have churches work more systematically on the problems of land ownership and farm tenancy. Strong rural churches cannot be maintained in areas where farm youth can never attain the goal of home ownership, farm owners lose their homes through foreclosure, insecure tenants cannot get returns from their investment, where shifting croppers and migrant wage laborers do not enjoy a well-rounded home and community life. Farm policy and local churches must work on a land tenure system to avoid erosion of the rural community. A clean very presentable copy.
