Ebsworth, who provided additional notes and illustrations to the work.With the ink inscription of John Mercer to Volume I and additional ballads from the Kentish Gazette, handwritten and tipped-in to the front blank of Volume II. This collection is comprised of Kentish ballads taken from manuscripts, old ballad collections and newspapers, with a selection of works from the fifteenth to the nineteenth century, with notes and vignette illustrations to accompany.
