Manuscript / Paper Collectible First Edition Signed
Paper Ephemera. Condition: Very Good. 1st Edition. A unique item. Offered is an original, typed and signed two-page letter (lacks original envelope) not specifically dated although 1988 from Barbara Karp to artist David Hockney which begins: "Dear Mr. Hockney: This in an inquiry concerning your desire and availability to accept the role of Production and Costume Designer for our film, SPLENDORA, to be produced and released as a major theatrical motion picture, in 1989. I hope you will first read the enclosed script [note - this script is not present with this offered letter]. Please don't pre-empt your decision without doing that. I think you'll probably have a good time reading the material, regardless [what follows is more information on the organizational aspects of the film]. Casting is just beginning. Eric Stolz and Daniel Day Lewis are frontrunners for the role of Timothy." This lengthy letter concludes: "Say yes. It will be grand. The poloroid collages and their successors can be a mere prelude for what lies ahead for Hockney and camera - still or moving. The notion of designing art for living theater - is it not an enticement?" Lacks original envelope and attached script; a few light spots to front page; a small round glass bottle light stain to second page. Signed by Author(s).

Loose Sheets. Condition: Fine in Fine Archival Boxes. Limited Edition. Limited Edition. Loose Sheets. A collection of 10 aquatints on Rives Paper. Leon Battista Alberti, renaissance scholar, artist and architect, coined the term Concinnitas to connote the beauty found in the confluence of perfect uses of number, position and outline. In 2012, Parasol commissioned ten mathematicians, physicists, and computer scientists, including two Nobel Laureates and five Fields Medalists, to create etchings of the mathematical expression most meaningful to them. These formulae were then printed by the fine-art print shop Harlan and Weaver as aquatints, evoking the look of equations quickly and elegantly sketched in white chalk on a blackboard. Accompanied by an expository essay of each and description card, signed by each. Sir Michael Atiyah. Edinburgh University. Fields Medal Enrico Bombieri. Institute of Advanced Study Princeton.
