The author is shown as "Captain Charles King" on the binding, and "General Charles King" on the title page. He was a captain in the National Guard, making General in 1895. Illustrated with 32 full page drawings, uncredited in this edition but by C. (Clarence) F. Underwood. A very good copy. The red cloth boards are clean and sharp with just minor softening to spine ends and a little chipping to the white lettering on the spine. There's a (beautifully written) name and address on front endpaper, a bookseller's label on pastedown, and some browning and spotting to edges and endpapers.
