Hardcover. Condition: Fine. Dust Jacket Condition: Near Fine. Susan Jeffers (illustrator). 1st Edition. Eric Knight's original Lassie tale was a short story in 1938 and a novel in 1940, and is here re-written by Rosemary Wells for young readers. The text is still more substantial than your average picture book, but is certainly approachable and still a tearjerker and, of course, it is beautifully illustrated. A fine copy of the first printing in a near fine dust jacket just slightly curled on top edge.
