Vasily Nikitich Meshkov (1868?1946) - a prominent Russian artist who studied at the Moscow School of Painting, Sculpture, and Architecture under notable mentors such as I. M. Pryanishnikov and V. Polenov. His membership in the Moscow Association of Artists and later the Leningrad House of Arts underscored his significance in the Russian art scene. Meshkov's teaching career spanned from a private school in Moscow to the Academy of Arts in Leningrad, where he imparted his expertise to budding artists. Renowned for his genre paintings, landscapes, and especially his portraits, Meshkov's works captured the essence of his subjects with keen observation and fidelity.
