Con motivo del 70 aniversario de la muerte del Dr. Eugen Kolisko la editorial publica este curso que es un intento por parte del autor de conseguir una verdadera comprensión de la conexión del ser humano con el mundo animal. Este libro clasifica en animales superiores (sangre caliente) e inferiores (sangre fría). Los mamíferos corresponderían al sistema rítmico y metabólico-motor (toro y león) y las aves al sistema neuro-sensorial (águila). Los animales de sangre fría serían órganos o vísceras (reptiles y anfibios como estómagos y serpientes como intestinos). Por eso el Dr. Kolisko primero habló de mamíferos y aves y, después, empezó por los seres unicelulares hasta llegar a los reptiles. Eugen Kolisko dice: «Hay grandes contrastes entre los animales superiores e inferiores. El mundo animal superior está agrupado alrededor del hombre, el inferior está relacionado por un lado con sus órganos internos, y por otro lado está íntimamente ligado a la Tierra. Al igual que el hombre aparece rodeado por los animales superiores, la propia Tierra tiene una estrecha relación con los animales inferiores. En el hombre, el mundo animal superior permanece íntimamente entretejido; en los animales inferiores, el interior del hombre ha sido exteriorizado y queda expuesto totalmente a la influencia del medio ambiente. Eso significa que estamos frente a un fenómeno singular del mundo animal superior e inferior.».

Dozenten für Auskultation und Perkussion ernannt, 1849 wirkte er bei der Cholera-Epidemie als ordin. Arzt im Aushilfsspital, 1873 übernahm er die Cholera-Abteilung des Allgem. Krankenhauses. Seit 1876 war er der Senior der Primarärzte desselben und vertrat als solcher wiederholt den Direktor. In den letzten Jahren hatte er nicht mehr doziert, sondern, vom wissensch. Leben zurückgezogen, ausschliesslich seiner Abteilung sich gewidmet, der er mit grosser Pflichttreue vorstand, bis er 4. Juli 1884 starb.
