Alexander verstarb in London im April 2011.Ellen Tsitsishvili ist 1941 in Tbilisi (Georgien) geboren und promovierte 1970 an der Staatlichen Lomonosov-Universität (Moskau, Russland). Seit 1964 ist sie Professorin am Institut für Kybernetik (Tbilisi, Georgien). Ihr Fachgebiet ist die Theorie der kondensierten Materie.
