"Er wird fälschlich von Einigen als Mitbegründer der Fruchtbringenden Gesellschaft oder des Palmenordens angesehen, aber erst seit 1622 gehört er zu demselben, während die Gründung im August 1617 vollzogen wurde [.] Er war angesehen im Weimarischen , besaß das Gut Seuptendorf, begleitete den Prinzen Johann Ernst von Sachsen-Weimar zur Erbeinigung am 27. März 1614 nach Naumburg, als fürstl. Hofmeister [.] und leitete [.] als Nachfolger des altbewährten Kaspar von Teutleben, der 1619 in Gothaische Dienste getreten war, die Regierungsgeschäfte zu Weimar" (ADB XVI, 753). - Papierbedingt stärker gebräunt.
