Couverture souple. Condition: Bon. Plaquette d'exposition . Né en 1944 à Kyoto, Aki Kuroda vit et travaille en France depuis 30 ans. Remarqué dès 1980 pour ses silhouettes et ses toiles monochromes, il surprend par la richesse de sa création. Son oeuvre n'a cessé d'inspirer les gens de lettres, de Marguerite Duras à Pascal Quignard. La diversité de ses créations (décorateur de ballet, metteur en scène de spectacle, éditeur de revues) fait de lui un artiste aux multiples facettes. Depuis 1976, Aki Kuroda a participé à de nombreuses expositions collectives, dont la XIème Biennale de Paris (1980), et a bénéficié de nombreuses expositions personnelles tant en France (Galerie Maeght, Centre d'Art Contemporain de Troyes) qu'au Japon (Musée National d'Art Moderne de Tokyo et Osaka). Remarqué en 1980 pour son exposition Les Ténèbres à la Galerie Maeght ainsi qu'à la XIe Biennale de Paris, Aki Kuroda ne cesse depuis lors de créer des ?uvres extrêmement diversifiées, mû par une inspiration toujours renouvelée. Artiste aux ressources profondes, il se fraie des « passages » entre des mondes divers : le modernisme et l'art contemporain, l'Orient et l'Occident, le corps et le cosmos, la mythologie et l'avenir. Ses tableaux comme la série des monochromes, les ?uvres avec la silhouette de cariatide ou au motif de minotaure sont bien connus, mais sa création s'étend à d'autres modes d'expression : la gravure, la sculpture, la fresque, la photographie, le décor et la scénographie, les installations etc. Depuis les années 90 en particulier, il poursuit une tentative originale qu'il nomme Cosmogarden (Jardin du Cosmos), sorte de spectacles-performances qu'il crée en collaboration avec des artistes travaillant dans des domaines tels que la danse contemporaine ou l'architecture.
