First edition, first printing. Early 20th century orange half morocco with five raised bands and gilt titles and illustrations to the spine. All edges gilt. Marbled endpapers. Beautifully illustrated with 8 colour plates and black and white line drawings throughout by H. J. Ford. A very good copy, the binding square and firm, the leather and cloth with a little light rubbing, the corners slightly bumped. The contents, with spotting to the endpapers and prelims and a few light spots and finger marks here and there are otherwise clean throughout. The the frontispiece is cracked but holding at the lower hinge; pages 3, 5, and 127 with small tears (not affecting the text). The tenth title in Andrew Lang's 'Fairy Book' series.
