Beke, Laszlo. A Student's Diary: Budapest, October 16 - November 1. New York: The Viking Press 1957. First edition. 125 pages, 5.5" x 8.5." Illustrated throughout, with red, yellow, and black illustrated dust jacket. Bound in black cloth boards with a colorful spine. Edited and translated by Leon Kossar and Ralph M. Zoltan. Slim book by an anonymous Hungarian art student who helped organize one of the Budapest protest meetings that triggered the Hungarian revolution. Powerful account of war and refugee life. Small chipping to jacket at top of spine, age toning throughout as expected, otherwise very good condition.
