The book was published by Houghton Mifflin Company in 1944 and appears to be an American First Edition but is not specifically stated as such. It's not an ex-library copy, the book is in very good condition (with the name of a previous owner stamped atop the front loose end page), and the dust jacket is in good + condition. The book is 5 1/4" by 8" and has 295 pages with black-and-white decorations and illustrations.
