Das farbfriche, sehr schön gestaltete Plakat entstand 1897 zur Gartenbauausstellung in Hamburg, für die Thielen außerdem Pläne für die Ausstellungshalle erstellt hatte. - Georg Thielen war ein deutscher Architekt und Kunstgewerbler, der ab 1881 in Hamburg tätig war. Von 1885 bis 1888 beteiligte sich Thielen an der Gestaltung der Fassaden der Speicherstadt. Er war am Bau mehrere Privat- und Geschäftshäuser beteiligt und galt als äußerst guter Zeichner und beteiligte sich an vielen Architektenwettbewerben.1890 entwarf er das Titelblatt der Publikation Hamburg und seine Bauten. Nach seinem frühen Tod zeigte die Kunsthalle 1901 eine Ausstellung mit zahlreichen nicht zur Ausführung gekommenen Entwürfen. - Fest auf Karton aufgezogen.
