This item is printed on demand - it takes 3-4 days longer - Neuware -The objective of the present study was designed to establish more specific criteria for the degree of differentiation and nuclear DNA histochemical quantitation of OSCC. Morphometric measurements by image analysis computer system and DNA histochemical quantitative analysis were assessed in association with clinicopathological features of OSCC. Two histological grading systems were used; Broders' grading system & Invasive front grading system using four histomorphological features that includes; degree of keratinization, nuclear pleomorphism, pattern of invasion and host response (inflammatory cell infiltration). The morphometric measurement was carried out using H&E staining techniques. Each nucleus and cell was submitted to morphometric parameter measurements that include nuclear area, maximum diameter (D max), form AR and D circle, cellular morphometric perimeter and nucleo: cytoplasmic ratio. A microspectrophotmerty technique was used to determine the quality of tumour nuclear DNA content with both histological grading systems of OSCC that stained by Feulgen reaction. Esterases histochemistry was employed to evaluate the distribution of carboxyl ester hydrolases in OSCC. 192 pp. Englisch.

Among these cytological and morphological properties of salivary gland tumours, one of the most important criteria for measuring its biological behaviour approach is cell proliferation. The cell proliferation / death balance is most important in the development of salivary gland tumours. Aim of the study is to examine the expression of Bax mRNA gene using in situ hybridization technique & PCNA protein immunohistochemically. Twelve formalin fixed paraffin embedded tissue blocks of pleomorphic adenoma were used in this study. Haematoxylin and Eosin stain was used for reassessment of the histopathologic diagnosis. The cell proliferation activity was examined by proliferating cell nuclear antigen (PCNA)IHC and proapoptotic cell death Bax mRNA gene was analysed by ISH technique.The high proliferative rate could explain the natural course of PA benign & the decreased expression of bax indicate that loss of bax expression might give the tumour cells a double growth advantage because uncontrolled proliferation is combined with reduce cell death rate 112 pp. Englisch.

Formalin fixed paraffin embedded tissue blocks of OSCC were used.The anti apoptotic cell activity was determined by bcl-2 mRNA gene and proapoptotic cell death was analysed by BaxmRNA gene using ISH technique. Results showed Bcl2 & bax genes expression correlate with histological grading of OSCC.Bcl2 gene is nearly lost in well differentiated OSCC as well as reduced in moderately & poorly differentiated OSCC.Bax gene is highly expressed in well & moderately differentiated OSCC & much reduced in poorly differentiated OSCC.Bax gene is highly expressed in well & moderately differentiated OSCC & much reduced in poorly differentiated OSCC.conclusion the aberrant Bcl-2 expression & loss of its function observed may play an important role in the tumourgenesis of oral cancers by enabling additional genetic alterations to occur. 108 pp. Englisch.

Cyclin D1 encodes the regulatory subunit of a holoenzyme that phosphorylates and inactivates retinoblastoma protein and promotes progression through the G1-S phase of the cell cycle. Overexpression of Cyclin D1 plays pivotal roles in the development of cancers.
