II, 205 ff. - Erste illustrierte Ausgabe dieses sehr seltenen utopischen Staatsromans. - Troisième édition de cette utopie politique censée donner des clés pour "l'harmonie d'un parfait gouvernement" (titre) et dédiée au duc de Bourgogne (orig.: 1703 sous le titre "Idée d'un règne doux, ou Relation du voyage du prince [.]", puis 5 éd. entre 1705 et 1729 sous le titre "Relation [.]"). Bien qu'attribuée auparavant à Pierre de Lesconvel, on sait maintenant que Pezron (1650-1722) était un gentilhomme breton qui séjourna aux cours de France et d'Angleterre et qu'il admirait Fénélon au point que l'éd. de 1709 fut attribuée à "l'auteur du Thélémaque". Il écrivit plusieurs livres d'histoire puis connut le succès avec cette utopie "réformatrice et constructive" (Segalen) empreinte de moralisme, mêlant idées conservatrices et neuves, louant le mérite personnel. Le thème du voyage imaginaire est à peine exploité (cfr Préface), sans naufrage, sans exotisme (simplement "un morceau de France détaché", Segalen p. 35). - Einband fachgerecht erneuert, 2 Kupfertafeln fehlen, 4 Bl. (S. 55 ff.) im Rand mit ergänzten Fehlstellen (minimaler Textverlust), stellenweise leicht fleckig, sonst gut erhalten. Sprache: französisch.
