Titled A Preface and Four Seasons with text by Irwin Shaw, published by Andre Emmerich Gallery in 1959. The text by Irwin Shaw explores the artist in relation to his work and environment set into the framework of the Four Seasons. Bound in plain original burgundy red cloth portfolio with gilt lettering on the spine, housed in a plain burgundy cloth slipcase. The portfolio consists of thirty loose sheets, as issued, including title page and the limitation page signed by artist and author, and five full page colour abstract lithographs, each signed and numbered in pencil by the artist. The edition is printed on Arches pure rag vellum and is numbered 18/ 150 copies. The portfolio is a little rubbed on the spine; the title page has ligh/ feint foxing; slip case a little rubbed and a slightly frayed at spine head; slipcase have some white marks, otherwise a very nice period piece.Size 19 x 15 inches. Signed by Author(s).
