It is VG-, downgraded due to a bumped corner at lower edge & a shallow tear where front cover meets the backstrip--does not go all the way through. Light soiling, too. Original cream colored paper covered boards with gilt lettering and decoration to upper cover and gilt lettering to spine for what is a bright, clean, unfaded and unworn, i.e. magnificent copy of the book. Original publisher's heavy green paper dust wrapper with matching gilt lettering and decoration to the book with minimal wear but with a split along the upper spine fold about one-third the length of spine; additionally, the spine and some areas of the front and back panels faded to brown for what is still a lovely copy of the wrapper. Original publisher's printed glassine wrapper with some light edge fraying for what is a wonderful and EXCEEDINGLY RARE copy of the glassine wrapper. Plain endpapers with light offsetting from wrapper. xiii, 248 pp., [40] leaves of plates. The Peter Newell Edition of The Hunting of the Snark and other Poems and Verses contains poems from Rhyme and Reason, Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, Through the Looking-glass and Sylvie and Bruno; illustrated with forty full page drawings in tint by Peter Newell; ornamental borders throughout by Robert Murray Wright. The condition of the book is FINE. The condition of the paper dust wrapper is VERY GOOD +. The condition of the glassine wrapper is VERY GOOD +.
