WALLAS, BINDER, WIGTON, 1875, on the front paste-down, lacking leaves A1 and A2, the remainder foxed, dusty and grubby in the margins, with scattered ink blots, a typically used copy, but of particular interest for the binder's ms. ascription. *The first leaf of each gathering has the statement - 'Crosbys correct edit' - in the lower margin. The printer's imprint is on the final leaf. These facts give the clue to the title of this work - a copy may be seen on COPAC, held in the British Library.

He was one of the surveyors of London after the great fire of 1666 where he was associated with Robert Hooke. His book was one of the standard treatises on surveying throughout the second half of the 17th. and beginning of the 18th. century. Note, there is old damp waviness to the text block and toning, the key feature of this volume is the tall full margined text and the superb Calf and marlbed boards and vellum tips binding of Alan Grace of Surrey UK, hence a good overall condition report. needs at least one frontis and one folding plate, loaded with trig and geometric charts and tables. A classic. By the Binder.
