Condition: Very Good. 1st Edition, Illustrated Edition. Folio (40 x 32cm). Green cloth with gilt lettering to front board and spine. 32 colour photogravure plates of traditional Chinese paintings in the style of Yuin Shu Ping, depicting flowers, birds, and botanical subjects. Includes a colour portrait frontispiece of the artist… (by Mayfair Studio), and bilingual foreword in English and Chinese by C. S. Ling, dated March 3, 1935, Kowloon. Text pages with tissue guards throughout. A scarce privately published artist's portfolio, produced by the artist's husband to preserve her work for posterity. The foreword notes the artist modelled her paintings after the classical style of Yuin Shu Ping (惲壽平) and her calligraphy after Wong Hsien Chi (王獻之). Green cloth with some wear to spine head (binding tape visible); light tanning to endpapers and some pages; colour plates bright and well-preserved with tissue guards intact. A good copy of a fragile and rarely seen item. Mrs. S. K. Ling (illustrator).
