Detailed chronological travelogue by the minister Frans Lion Cachet (1835-1899), first published in full in 1896 by J.A. Wormser in Amsterdam. It describes an inspection tour that Lion Cachet made through various mission areas. The journey passes through Java (Dutch East Indies), among others, but also through Egypt and the Holy Land. Lion Cachet wrote this work as a delegate of the Christian Reformed Church (later the Reformed Churches in the Netherlands) to assess the progress of the missionary work. It first appeared in 15 separate volumes, published by Johan Adam Wormser in Amsterdam in the years 1893-1895, and was subsequently published as a hardcover book.
