Original Uniform Popular Songwriter's Contract signed "Edward Lisbona" and "Sidney Prosen", folio, 4 pages, November 29th 1950, an agreement with Sid Prosen, owner of Hometown-Village Music, to allow him to publish his original song "The Horse and Carriage Ran Away", in consideration of certain gua…ranteed royalty payments. *Sidney Prosen is best remembered for discovering Hank Williams and later, Tom and Jerry, better known as Simon and Garfunkle, whom he recorded in 1957. He also wrote the best selling record of 1952 "Til I Waltz Again With You", recorded by Theresa Brewer. Also included: the original Certificate of Copyright granted by the US government to Sidney Prosen and Edward Lisbona for their song "Juke Box Annie", April 14th 1950, with embossed official seal of registration. Both items are in fine condition. British songwriter, who under the name of Eddie "Piano" Miller, was a top-selling piano player and bandleader of the 1950's and 1960's. As a songwriter he is best remembered for writing "Gently", a hit song he wrote for Elvis Presley that appeared on the multi-million selling album "Something for Everybody".
