Inscribed and signed by five of the twenty authors on the front endpaper: Rupert Hughes (1872-1956), a novelist, film director, and Oscar-nominated screenwriter (for 1927's The Patent Leather Kid); Peter B. Kyne (1880-1957), a novelist (The Three Godfathers) and screenwriter; Frank R. Adams (1883-1963), a newspaper reporter and screenwriter (1938's The Cowboy and the Lady) who has also signed and dated the first page of his story "3000 Miles Away"; Irvin S. Cobb (1876-1944), a humorist and editor who has also signed the first page of his story "Snake Doctor"; and Laurence Stallings (1894-1968), a playwright (What Price Glory, with Maxwell Anderson) and novelist who has also signed the first page of his story "Vale of Tears" and added the comment "I am [the character] Dozier in this story." The book is square and unmarked; corners and spine end bumped; white spotting to the front board; foxing to the page edges. The dust jacket is not priced; heavily chipped and edgeworn; several tears are tape-repaired on the inside; Brodart protected. Signed by Author(s).
