No Binding. Condition: Good. 1st Edition. Marthe Regnier was a beautiful French actress and singer whose career spans the first half the 20th century. Regnier is famous for roles in several French films such as Germaine Dulac's La jeune fille la plus méritante de France (1918) and Roger Lion's Y'en a pas deux comme Angélique (1931). Her effervescent beauty was captured in a portrait by the Italian master Boldini. This poster seems to be advertizing a coming performance by Regnier and would likely have been posted in a Parisian theatre. It is signed De Losque, for Daniel De Losque, who was a French illustrator and poster artist. De Losque was actually the pseudonym of Sargent Henri Casimir Paul Thouroude who died prematurely while fighting in the First World War in 1915, at the age of 35. The poster is mounted on linen and is in very good condition. This poster measure 16 x 23 inches.
