Condition: Good. 1950. First Edition. 254 pages. Illustrated jacket over green cloth with gilt titles to spine. Includes photographic plates in colour and B&W. Pages have slight foxing, tanning and minor thumbing. Binding is firm. Foxing and tanning more noticeable towards start and end of book and on text block edges. Endpapers have strips of tanning caused by jacket. Previous owner's inscription to front endpaper. Bookseller's sticker to rear pastedown. Text block edges mildly rubbed. Boards have some moderate edge wear, with slight bumping to corners and minor bumping to spine ends. Boards a little rubbed and marked overall. Gilt is bright. Unclipped jacket has some edgewear with chips, tears and creasing. Jacket is slightly rubbed and marked overall. Jacket moderately foxed overall, more so to spine. Spine is sunned too.

End-papers are pasted down. Pages 34, 37-42 and 211-212 have light pencil annotations/notes.
